Finished Painting Project? Recycling Instructions!
Home renovation painting projects will usually leave you with leftover supplies.
When you decide you won’t be using the leftover paint on other projects, or you just don’t want it taking up space in your home, here’s where and how to recycle paint.
Latex Disposal
In an instance you only have around an inch of paint left in your can, you can leave it open outside to dry.
Make sure you keep this out of reach of pets or children. Latex paint in small amounts will dry quickly and then you can throw the can out.
On the contrary, if you have a significant amount of leftovers and are unsure of where to dispose the paint leftover, consider investing in a box, cat litter, or shredded paper.
You can then paint into the box of litter/paper and wait for this to dry. Afterwards dispose of the empty paint can and the box.
Creativity
Creativity is always an option! If you’re wanting to recycle left over paint, try using several different cans and blending them as a base coat for your next project.
What you can do for your outdoor wooden items, cabinets, or bed frames, can be all brought back to life!
Even though this new shade may not be permanent, it is an expensive way to substitute for a base coat.
